9 actions to boost your company's cash flow

Despite the crisis, there are a number of levers you can pull now to steer your business through the tough times.

The Corona epidemic has shut down large parts of the world and the economic consequences are massive. Many Danish companies stand to lose the majority of their normal turnover and their customers are finding it harder to pay their bills.

Businesses' earnings and cash flow are under tremendous pressure that requires action. Here are a number of levers you can pull right now to help your business through the crisis.

1. Update budgets

Update your budgets to the new situation so you can get an overview and take the necessary actions to ensure the survival of your business. At inforevision, we experience that many of our customers prepare short-term liquidity budgets - down to a week-by-week basis - to get an overview of liquidity.

2. Government aid packages

Find out what the government relief packages mean for you. Can you seek compensation for overhead costs, salaries for laid-off employees or loss of revenue?

3. Talk to the bank

Can you reschedule loans or take advantage of the options banks now have to extend credit lines, increase overdrafts or defer payments?

4. Surety and guarantee scheme

Does the company fall within the scope of Vækstfonden's ability to guarantee new loans for SMEs and to guarantee large companies' loans or credits in the bank?

5. Tax and VAT

Take advantage of changed and extended payment deadlines etc.

6. Invoicing on account

An effective reminder procedure is important. Take stock of outstanding customer accounts and invoice them at short intervals if possible.

7. Enter into payment agreements

Contact creditors and suppliers to agree longer payment terms or change payment terms.

8. Fixed agreements, subscriptions and fixed costs

Can you change or cancel any of your fixed agreements?

9. projects and investments

Put internal projects on hold and postpone investments for now.

"We know that cash is king, but even though we're still liquid, we do everything we can to avoid draining the coffers. Because besides being a showstopper in practice, a half-empty cash box is also a huge mental barrier in terms of being able to see solutions."
